The investigative units that comprise the department’s Criminal Investigations Section are responsible for the follow-up investigation of crimes committed against persons or property in the City of Doraville which require a degree of specialization or a centralized investigative approach.
The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) investigates all felonies, such as financial crimes, property crimes, and violent crimes against persons. CID also investigates some high and aggravated misdemeanors. The Criminal Investigations Division is charged with all crime scene processing, analysis and mapping. CID also investigates alcohol service, serves subpoenas, and executes search warrants needed for an investigation.
All major criminal investigations that are undertaken by the Doraville Police Department are conducted by Detectives assigned to this division. These Detectives are dedicated to investigate these crimes, collect evidence, identify perpetrators and prepare the cases for successful prosecution.
