OUR MISSION
PERMITS DIVISION FUNCTIONS
The Permits Division is responsible for conducting fingerprints, background checks, driver’s history and driver’s license checks on employees who work within the City of Doraville and will require an employee alcohol server permit, a massage/spa establishment work permit, a pawnshop employee permit, a sexually oriented business employee license, or a petroleum permit ID card. Upon completion and passing of the background checks, applicants are issued a picture ID/permit for their business. All backgrounds are maintained and updated on a yearly basis. Petroleum drivers will need to renew their permit on or before their birthdays every year.

The Permit Division is located within the Records Department of the Doraville Police Department. Hours of operation are:
Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (excluding holidays)
pEtroleum tanker Drivers:
Applications must be turned in to the Doraville Police Records Dept., along with a current verification of employment letter from your employer, and a $100 fee. (There is a $50.00 late fee if you renew after your birthday).
all other applications:
All other applications for background check (Employee Alcohol Server Permit, Massage/Spa Establishment Work Permit, Sexually Oriented Business Employee ID) must be completed and turned in to the Doraville City Hall (3725 Park Ave., Doraville, GA 30340, 770-451-8745) before being brought to the Doraville Police Department for a background check.
