PERMITS DIVISION FUNCTIONS
The Permits Division is responsible for conducting fingerprints, background checks, driver’s history checks and driver’s license checks on all employees that will be operating within our City as a waiter/waitress serving alcohol, taxi driver or that will be pulling fuel from the terminal facilities located in the City which is considered a secure area. Upon completion and passing of the background checks, they are all issued a picture ID for their business. All backgrounds are maintained and updated on a yearly basis with the exception of Petroleum drivers, which are updated every 2 years.

Hours
The Permit Divisions hours are as follows:
Monday through Friday, excluding holidays
9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Georgia Criminal Histories to 10:30am to 2:00pm Mon-Thur, Closed Friday
NOTE
For new applications submitted by petroleum drivers that need to be fingerprinted and taxi drivers that need their car inspected, the cut off is at 3:00 p.m.
Alcohol:
Must be at least 18 years of age
Valid Identification is required
$25.00 application fee
Complete application with notary seal
Valid state identification (your application will be denied without this)
$25.00 for the permit, due when permit is issued
Taxi:
Valid GA Drivers License
Current Motor Vehicle Record, must be obtained within the last 30 days
Meter certification or DeKalb County permit (we will except either one)
Declaration page of insurance policy stating required coverage amounts
Completed application
$25.00 application fee (non refundable if denied)
$125.00 permit fee, due when permit is issued
Petroleum Drivers:
$100.00 fee for your permit which include background, fingerprints and id card
